Senior year of high school, everyone said beware of the freshman 15. Is this really a thing I thought to myself? Copious amount of schoolwork, late night study sessions, cafeteria food, not enough time to work out. Yes, the freshman 15 is most definitely possible. Although, this is not just a college freshman’s worry. The struggles of finding a job, of dealing with your kids (sorry mom), paying the bills, and everyday life sometimes gets in the way of taking care of your own self. Working out and eating healthy is not all about looking good. When you feel healthy you view the world differently and feel good about yourself which opens up so many doors for yourself. You take chances and become an all around happier person. Make a change for yourself.
Not for your siblings, coworkers, friends, or family. Just for you.
Life. Inspired. Creative. Here at TWIN this is what our team stands for. I would like to share with you some of the benefits of eating healthy and working out other than the fact that you can look your best.
Benefits of Exercising
Reduce Stress After a stressful day at work its not easy to have a mind set to get a quick workout in or not go for those extra chocolatey Kit Kat bars in the cupboard. As a matter of fact, working out helps to relieve a lot of your mental stress and clear your mind.
Boost Brain Power Sometimes hitting the gym or even taking a nice walk outside is extremely hard after a long day at work. So why not try a morning routine instead. Taking your dog on a walk or going for a light jog can help improve overall brain performance and help you start the day off right. (So then when you get home you can kick back on the couch, no KIT Kat bar though).
Get More Done Do you sit in a cubicle all day? On your break you should get out for a short walk or anything active. Research has shows and from experience myself before some of my work shifts that exercise can increase productivity and your energy.
Benefits of Eating Healthy
Improves Mood One might think a bag of chips is just what you need or some mushy brownie. This is in fact not true. Making healthy choices can make you feel better about your appearance, which can boost your confidence and self esteem.
Fight off Diseases Healthy habits can help prevent certain health conditions such as heart disease or stroke. A wider range of health problems such as depression or diabetes can also become less likely if choose the healthy food groups.
I know as you get older your metabolism becomes slower and you may think what I have expressed above is easier said than done especially as I’m only 19 years old. But I truly believe and its proven that you can become the best you possible if you work hard improving you’re well being.
